Mineral pigments are extracted from the earth and their synthetic types are made by relatively simple chemical reactions, especially oxidation. These pigments do not contain carbon elements and their chemical structure includes metal salts that are separated from solutions and precipitated.

What are the main uses of pigments in what industries?

As the name of pigments indicates, they are used to color products. Pigments are used in both organic and inorganic forms in the paint industry. This category of pigments is called “primary pigments”, which includes pigments such as titanium dioxide (for the white color spectrum), chrome green oxide, yellow and red iron oxide, etc.
